At The Parkside Group, we’ve seen firsthand how Heart Forward transforms the customer
experience by personalizing care, anticipating needs, and building lasting trust. Through the
gracious support of Georgia DCH and GHCA, this program has strengthened relationships
in our centers—staff feel empowered, and residents feel truly heard. Its impact has been
lasting, and we’re grateful for the change it’s inspired in our communities.

promote quality and to mitigate the
issue of overdue regulatory surveys.
Established in 1991, the GHCA
Education & Research Foundation’s
purpose is to develop, promote and
support the professional development and education of individuals
who desire to specialize in longterm and post-acute healthcare.
It’s with the Foundation’s generous
support, Heart Forward was developed and is designed to facilitate
and teach a Culture of Service
Excellence to enhance workforce
retention and resident satisfaction. Through Train the Trainer
Intensives, over 200 long term care
professionals successfully completed the training. Recognizing the
correlation of workforce stability
and engagement to satisfaction,
DCH and GHCA embarked upon a
collaboration to support implementation of Heart Forward in 15 focus
centers to assist with complaint
resolution and service recovery.
In Georgia, 70 percent of skilled
nursing facility residents receive
Medicaid. Implementation of H.R.
1 will have material implications
on long term and post-acute care
providers including a ten-year moratorium on CMS enforcement of the
minimum staffing rule and changes

to Medicaid criteria. We will continue to monitor and evaluate the potential overall impact as it evolves.
GHCA represents caring people,
caring for people and we are proud
of our legacy of quality. We will
continue to lean Heart Forward as
we passionately advocate on behalf
of Georgia’s elders and their dedicated caregivers.
