THE ANIMAL SCIENCE PROGRAM
rookies when it comes to working,” Mazumder said. “They’ve had eight semesters of real,
meaningful experience.”
Campus Life and Athletics
With 27,000 acres— apparently the largest contiguous campus in the world— Berry
offers students an unparalleled environment,
Mazumder says. Its two campuses, the main
campus and the mountain campus, combine
academics, residence life, athletics, and even
an on-site elementary and middle school. Partnerships like Chick-fil-A’s WinShape program
further enrich campus offerings.
Athletics also play a vibrant role in campus
life. Competing in NCAA Division III, Berry
fields teams in football, soccer, basketball,
swimming, lacrosse, softball, baseball and
more. The focus, Mazumder emphasized, is
on balance. “Our student-athletes are serious
about both academics and athletics. Division III
allows them to lean into both, without having
to sacrifice one for the other.”
Expansive Opportunities
With approximately 2,300 students, Berry
College remains intentionally close-knit while
offering expansive opportunities. For Mazumder, the future lies in honoring the college’s traditions while elevating its visibility and impact.
“At Berry, we’re part of something bigger
than ourselves,” he reflected. “That’s what
makes this place so special— and why I’m so
excited to lead it into the future.”
