promotion took place in the program’s
first two decades, and community
stakeholders caught the vision for
Fayetteville’s future. After years of

of 2021, the city cut the ribbon on its
10-acre Fayetteville City Hall & City
Center Park development, intended to
catalyze downtown revitalization.
The Fayetteville City Hall &
City Center Park development was
additionally successful because of
the private investment it attracted.
Walton Communities built its Walton
Fayette apartment homes adjacent
to the south side of City Center Park,
and Line Creek Brewing renovated an
existing bus maintenance building,
which became known as Line Creek
Bus Barn, including Hog Pit BBQ,
MS Pizza and Scoops ice cream. In
January 2024, the Georgia Municipal Association honored Fayetteville
with its Visionary City Award for the
Fayetteville City Hall & City Center
Park project. The project was also one

Planning Award in late 2023. The city’s
investment in downtown set the stage
for what is to come for Fayetteville.
