one permanent one. “If you compare
us to other automobile museums, we
are one of the only ones that change
exhibits every one and a half months,”
Adair said. “We try to keep it fresh
with new ideas. And we try to appeal
to a lot of different demographics. We
pride ourselves on that. It’s hard work
getting the exhibits in and out, but the
customers really appreciate it.”
The sprawling Savoy facility has
six exhibitions coming up. “Stunning
Studebakers,” an exhibit showcasing
the famous 20th-century cars, runs

through August 3. “Barn Finds with
Tom Cotter,” an exhibition devoted to
the comedian’s discoveries, will be
held May 6-August 24. “It’s a Duesy,”
an exhibit highlighting the Duesenberg, runs August 5-December 7.
“Cannonball Run,” devoted to the
illegal cross-country road race and its
movies, is set for Sept. 1-Feb. 1. “Shelby
Built,” highlighting cars constructed
by Carroll Shelby, will take place Nov.
11-March 1. “Ferrari in America,” an exhibit featuring the Italian sports cars,
will be held Dec. 9-March 29.
“Another thing that sets us apart
from other museums is you can walk
around all of our cars,” Adair said.
“They’re not backed in but are spaced
out. A lot of the other museums either
don’t have the space or have so many
cars. We have around 50 cars on the
floor for the whole museum at one
time. Some are not roped off, but
some are.”
