we ever expected,” said Sandi. “Not
only have we learned how to make
great wines, but we have also
developed a connection with so
many people-- friends, customers,
neighbors and local businesses in
our community, and fellow Georgia
winemakers— through sharing our
passion. We hope that we have
created memorable experiences for
each of our visitors to our beautiful
vineyard paradise right here in the
North Georgia Mountains.”
The Diehls moved from Michigan to Atlanta in 1980 to attend
Emory University School of Medicine. They stayed in Georgia to
practice medicine and raise their
four children— and now are often
joined by their vineyard-loving
seven grandchildren. In 2007, they
started making homemade wine in
their basement, continuing Sandi’s
Italian family tradition. This led to
the dream of owning a vineyard and
they purchased Stonewall Creek
Vineyards in 2018.
Stonewall Creek has developed
great fans along with Sippin’ Local
voters. “Stonewall Creek owners are
so friendly and engaging. Wonderful
setting and atmosphere to enjoy
time with old and new friends,” said
one James online voter.
“Stonewall Creek is top notch.
They are so knowledgeable and
love to educate when asked. Charcuteries and cozy blankets are a
wonderful touch. The vibe and wine
are great,” said another.
