powerhouse. Known for breaking news updates and popular shows “Good Day Atlanta”
and “The Georgia Gang,” Schneider’s team

published by the Charlotte-based American

legal career, which included becoming the first African American woman to
serve as a superior court judge in Georgia and
the first woman to serve on the Supreme
Court of Georgia. Sears is leading Emory

way to the top of the bank’s vital
Georgia division, where she manages the bank’s commercial and middle market sectors. Her Peach State roots grow even
deeper with board seats for the Woodruff
Arts Center, Metro Atlanta Chamber, and
Junior Achievement of Georgia.
A former chairman of the University System of Georgia Board of
Regents, this well-connected businessman’s record of projects reads
like a “Wall of Fame” among subcontractors,
architects and designers. He chairs the Rowen Foundation, overseeing development of a
2,000-acre Gwinnett County “knowledge
community” which is envisioned to be a
global research destination.

In 1967 Shaw founded Shaw Industries alongside his brother Bud, a
hugely successful carpet and flooring company that would help reinforce Dalton’s reputation as the “Carpet Capital of the World.” After selling that company
to Berkshire Hathaway in the early 2000s,
Shaw’s career got a second wind when he
founded Engineered Floors in 2009, which
itself has grown to become the third-largest
residential flooring provider in the world.
