former state legislator and Elbert
County grain and livestock farmer is one of
the most influential voices for farmers and
rural Georgians under the Gold Dome. By the
way, he has been farming since 1976.
With nearly 800 locations across
the Southeast, RaceTrac has grown
to become the 2nd largest private
company in Georgia and the 18th
across the entire country. Morhous is a native Atlantan and third-generation leader of
the gas station and convenience store chain
and is executing an aggressive expansion
strategy that’s seeing newer, larger stores
opening every year.
Carrying on the family tradition as
the third generation of Morris men
to lead the Augusta-based media
company, the savvy businessman
has grown his company’s broad portfolio to
include online news and services in addition
to newspaper and magazine publishing. Morris is also the CEO of Morris Venture Capital,
which was established to identify and nurture growing bussinesses.

board of the Metro Atlanta Chamber.

McMurry started as an engineer at
GDOT and worked his way up the ladder until
being appointed commissioner by then-Gov.
Nathan Deal in 2015. The Hart County native
is the third-longest serving transportation
commissioner in the nation and currently
serves as vice president of the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials.

state’s many hospitals and healthcare systems. She also serves on the Georgia Lottery
board and is a graduate of the 2022 Leadership Georgia Class.
TERRY NORRIS
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, GEORGIA SHERIFFS’ ASSN.
This organization strives to represent all 159 of the state’s elected
sheriffs and their deputies, making
Norris one of the leading law enforcement advocates when it comes to legislative activity under the Gold Dome. He also
oversees the Georgia Sheriffs’ Youth Homes,
which provides full-time housing and care for
abused and abandoned children.

PRESIDENT & CEO, ATLANTA CONVENTION
& VISITORS BUREAU
Tourism is a huge economic driver
for the city of Atlanta (an estimated $20 billion in visitor spending
in 2024), and Pate’s ACVB team is
at the center of it all. The hospitality leader
serves on the board of directors of the U.S.
Travel Association, and has his fingers on the
pulse of Atlanta’s sports scene via board seats
for the Atlanta Sports Council and College
Football Hall of Fame.

Trilith (then-Pinewood Studios)
was ground zero for Georgia’s film
boom in the early 2010s, and under
Patterson’s leadership has grown to
become the largest film production facility
outside of Hollywood. And it’s more than just
a studio— the Town at Trilith is a city all its
own, with homes, a theatre complex and
even a K-12 school.
