Groce’s 32 years at the Historical
Society are but a blink of the eye
for the 187-year-old, Savannah-based institution, but it’s
been a particularly fruitful tenure. GHS’ annual revenue has jumped from $500,000 to
over $5 million, while its endowment has
swelled from just $1 million to more than
$23 million. Groce himself is a published
scholar of military history, most notably the
Civil War.
Since 2011 Haupert has led the
state’s largest public hospital, the
fifth-largest in the U.S. and home to
one of the busiest and highly regarded Level I trauma centers in the world. His
reputation extends well outside of Atlanta as
he serves as chair of the American Hospital
Association’s Board of Trustees, making him a
key healthcare figure on the national stage.

This well-connected attorney is a
partner in the firm’s corporate and
finance transactions department,
which keeps him busy focusing on
domestic and international commercial
transactions. Haidet spent 36 years leading
the growth of the McKenna Long Aldridge
and Dentons firms in Atlanta and, since 2023,
is demonstrating the same growth work ethic
with Bryan Cave. He also remains active serving on various Georgia business and charitable boards.

Pamela Bondi last year, Heap is a
former chairman of Georgia’s Board
of Pardons and Paroles and district
attorney in the Eastern Judicial Circuit. She
now serves as the chief federal law enforcement officer for the Southern District of Georgia, which covers 43 of Georgia’s 159 counties
and includes Savannah and Augusta.
NICOLE HENDRICKSON
CHAIR, GWINNETT COUNTY COMMISSION
This longtime Gwinnett community leader became the first African-American to be elected chair
of the Board of Commissioners in
2020. In addition to overseeing one of the
Hall co-founded HBS in 1989 in
Atlanta and helped grow it to become one of the best full-service
litigation firms in the Southeast
(and even beyond). The battle-hardened trial
attorney also serves as an honorary consul to
the country of Georgia and writes state of
Georgia-based novels.

This tireless leader in the CID
space oversees one of the fastest-growing commercial districts in
Atlanta’s north metro. Hanlon was
the first female chair of the Council for Quality Growth and tirelessly serves on various
boards including the Greater North Fulton
Chamber of Commerce, the Sandy Springs
and Dunwoody Perimeter Chambers of Commerce and DeKalb Chamber of Commerce.

represents all 536 Georgia cities, big

proud Valdosta native, the affable Hanson

board of directors for Midtown Atlanta’s legendary Fox Theatre.
THEODORE HERTZBERG
U.S. ATTORNEY, NORTHERN DISTRICT OF GEORGIA
Beginning his career as a federal
prosecutor in the Savannah-based
Southern District of Georgia,
Hertzberg prosecuted violent criminals, drug dealers and gang members while
also serving as chief of the asset forfeiture
section. He transferred to Atlanta’s sprawling
Northern District in 2018 before being appointed U.S. Attorney by the second Trump
Administration last year.

The Atlanta Beltline is one of the
nation’s most successful urban redevelopment programs, and under
Higgs’ leadership it has grown to
nearly 18 miles of what will eventually be a
22-mile loop around the city. The Eastside
Trail running past Piedmont Park and Ponce
City Market is the best-known stretch, but
the Southside and Westside Trails are ready
to spur development of their own.

2023, Hosey has been promoted to
every sworn supervisor rank in the
Investigative Division over his 39
years with the GBI. The statewide investigative agency plays a key role in supporting the
criminal justice system via criminal investigations and forensic laboratory services.

Howell oversaw Gray’s transformation from a relatively small but respected regional television provider
to a media giant in 2019 after its
$3.6 billion merger with Raycom. The company
now has its fingers in 113 markets (including
every major market in Georgia), reaching 36
percent of all American households.
