“Having the option to safely walk
or bike to local businesses and other
destinations is the ultimate community amenity,” said Jim Durrett, who also
heads the Buckhead Coalition. “This
project provides that by creating a connection from the PATH400 greenway
to Buckhead’s commercial core, where
residents can dine, shop or catch a
MARTA train to events elsewhere in
the city. There’s no question this project will be among the most important
we have ever undertaken to enhance
quality of life in Buckhead.”
Cumberland CID
Celebrating its 35th Anniversary
in 2023, this CID was the first one
established in Georgia. When commercial property owners formed the
Cumberland CID in 1988, the area
known as the “Platinum Triangle”
was primarily a nine-to-five job center.
Now the CID has leveraged $160

million with county, state, and federal
funding making strategic investments
into transportation and infrastructure
projects that have transformed Cumberland into a business and entertainment destination.
“The Atlanta Braves and The Battery Atlanta helped create a community and culture where people want
to be,” said Kim Menefee, executive
director of the CID. “Along with a
major league baseball team, Cumberland truly has it all with 840 acres of
national parkland, 38 miles of trails,
diversity of shopping, dining, entertainment, and job options, topped with the
pristine Chattahoochee River.”
With 84,000 jobs and 30,000 diverse residents, the Cumberland CID
is working to connect people to jobs
