ome people just have an
uncanny ability to be right.
They predict the weather without checking the
forecast, sense traffic jams
before Waze can and always
know the perfect time to
buy stock. Then there’s Matt
Towery. He takes this gift to a whole new level. Not
only does he see political trends before they unfold,
but he has turned it into an art form. In the 2024
presidential election, once again he was the most
accurate pollster in the game.
But if you know Matt, you know this isn’t luck.
It’s not some mystical crystal ball tucked away

to be huge— let’s do this.” A great day for the firm.
And having him as Of Counsel at HBS has been
invaluable. His ability and insight to navigate the
intersection of law, politics and government is
second to none and has been of great value.
Of course, politics is just one chapter in this
Atlanta native’s epic career. He was a rising star in
Georgia politics back in the day, serving in the state
legislature and playing a key role in the Republican
revolution of the 1990s. He was a trusted advisor
to Newt Gingrich when political tides were shifting
in ways few saw coming. He later reinvented himself as a media powerhouse— pollster, syndicated
