Grant points to one of the top
accomplishments for the Canton
City Council is the progress the city
is making while cutting taxes to
the lowest millage rate in Canton’s
recorded history, even with $42
million in capital investments in the
city’s fiscal 2026 budget.

Completion of the city’s Wastewater Control Plant expansion,
the largest municipal project in
Canton’s history is also expected in
2026, ensuring sewer capacity for
decades to come.
HOLLY SPRINGS
This city is making strides to
bring the long-anticipated Holly
Springs Town Center to life. It is a
live, work and play project including restaurants and retail space,
offices and several housing options.
The center of the development will
be the new City Hall, which will
overlook an event green. And city
leaders held a ground-breaking
ceremony for the new municipal
building in November.
“Construction will begin this
winter, and we anticipate welcoming residents into this new space
by the summer of 2027,” Mayor
Ryan Shirley said of the signature
project. “This building will be a
place where history and progress
meet, a place where generations of
Holly Springs residents will regularly come together, engage with
their city and feel proud to call
Holly Springs home.”
In addition to being the new
home for the Holly Springs City
Council, city employees and
community boards, the Council
Chambers were thoughtfully
designed for use as a flexible
space when public meetings are
not in session.
